What a surprise to see Kert here, and what a unique way to collaborate, Diamond-Michael. Nice work! I really enjoyed Ozeki's book A Tale for the Time Being, which takes place in a Zen monastery, and I have this one on my list. Thanks to both of you!

Yes, Diamond is fine. And good luck with your day.

My tank is full of energy so I’m going to give this day my all. In terms of my output, let’s just say that there’s more to life than just writing endlessly, dirty chai’s , and reading books. I am hoping that my move to Chicago in 2025 will help to correct that.

I love when these random opportunities surface. Can’t wait to feature you as well in “The Chocolate Taoist.”

Have a great week! I’m off to figure out how to get a cash infusion to stay alive. Last month was a bit bumpy so the goal this week is to smooth the pavement.

I hear you, Diamond-Michael (Please tell me if I should address you differently). I have to go out and do a few small home repairs this week to bring in some money. I’ve been on an extended break but I’m fast running out of money. It bums me out because I’m 60 and sore and I want to be completely done with contracting. I would love nothing more than to just write.

I have to say, I think your output is incredible. Such quality writing too. I don’t know how you do it!

Great post. Thanks to you both. Kert, the spookiness continues - I love Ruth Ozeki’s novels and have read this one and A Tale for the Time Being numerous times. Plus Ram Dass also a great inspiration! I am writing about him soon!

What a wonderful and educational post. I’m putting Ozeki on my reading list. Really appreciate yours and Kert’s perspective on a book I hope to read in coming months.

Ahhhhh! My soul settles into this space like a cat nestling into a basket of warm, fresh laundry. Minus the “You’re not supposed to be here!” of course!

Both of Ruth Ozeki’s novels mentioned here left me feeling not just psychically satisfied, but physically changed, in a way that I can’t even articulate to myself. (SELF: Maybe you could, oh, I don’t know, explore that with writing? ME: Huh.)

Thank you, Diamond, for holding this space, and for introducing me to Kert, and hosting fellow soul travelers. (Waving at you, Don!) Spouse keeps wanting to spend a little time in Colorado, where he lived a time or two in childhood, and we are actively planning some road warrior time, so perhaps we can clink real cups in the future. (We also have very active Chicago-shaped heart receptors!)

P.S. I’m a few chapters into Wrapped in Rainbows. Thanks again for that. ❤️
