>>I was chaining myself to the very people and events I sought freedom from. My anger, my need to be vindicated—these were the true captors, not the people I blamed.
Lovely insight, nicely put. I think that's the key to recovering from trauma.
“Power, I realized, is not about force but flow—about moving with life’s currents rather than resisting them.”
This was a very enjoyable read, it had a relatable point to the Taoist story of the waterfall you mentioned in an earlier article of yours. Thanks for sharing your experiences and awareness on the subject.
You articulated something that I've experienced as well, a different response to losses. For me this didn't happen through Taoism or the I Ching, although they probably contributed, but almost a maturing and a kind of letting go.
Sorry, I'm struggling for words. I can relate, but I think my experience was a little different, even though the results were similar.
My dear Friend, I loved "clearing space" for the soul. Your last lines speak of self empowerment as the freedom we all must have to be true to ourselves first. I can't tell you how much it means to me to be one of your readers and join with them as devoted to self realisation and strength of character and purpose. Love, love, love!

Beautifully stated. ❤️

Hi Oma. Thank you for your thoughts and kind words. It’s always a pleasure to hear from you.
“Instead of replaying the past, I asked myself, What wounds within me need healing? What stories am I telling myself about my worth?”
I had a case of replying the past this morning and saw how draining it can be. Love these questions, they are great journaling prompts.
Spot on. I needed to read this post - thank you!
