The title caught my attention; I was hooked by the beginning of the second sentence. Moments later, delving deeper into your essay, I felt seen. An added bonus - learning about the introduction of Ancient Greek and Stoics take on community and connection as well as a deeper contemplation on my own way of being in the world. It’s not about being able to talk to anyone, it’s about connecting with anyone, everyone. One by one. Allowing for the possibility of the sacred.

Thanks Taoist; How do we expect to connect with people if we don't listen. Listening & talking to strangers that's a privilege I get every now and then. Having a laugh with a stranger, that's a cherished memory....!
