You just brought back a ton of good memories. In Atlanta if you were a sister who just wanted to dance and have a few cocktails without someone trying to pick you up, you hit one of the Gay men’s clubs.
I worked in a Gay district (in Midtown) for a couple of years, but for a decade I never paid a cover charge or paid for a cocktail or for food in any of those joints. My boys kept me hooked up.
I still remember the night Sylvester just showed up in one of my favorite holes-in-the-wall and tore the place down, lifted the rafters and had us dancing right out the door into the middle of Peachtree Street.
Oh I so love this! Candid and fun! Thank you!
🙌
I remember seeing The Ohio Player live in a disco bar in Lansing Michigan, late sixties.
WOW! How cool is that.

Yes! Love this. Thanks for sharing this great memory.
Not like your usual fare, but I sure got a kick out of it lol, thanks.
I can't believe I once wore polyester (silk we called them haha) shirts to grade school.
Thanks for the great memory lane!
Yup! Had a ton of fun writing this one.
***** Highly recommend
