Distracted world and me -a distracted person. Thank for this perfect essay for where I sit today. the step of closing tabs is so apt. On my computer, I do close tabs, but I also often bookmark them, and really that is the same thing, except out of sight.

What a brilliant and well timed piece of writing. Thank you! I love this part best "simplicity is not just a place we visit". Words to think about today for sure.

"It is in this stillness that we come back to ourselves."

One of the most important points of Daoism I've learnt recently.

Maybe, if we could come back to ourselves, we could also become more open to something beyond ourselves as well.

But I'm still experimenting with that. Just like you, I have "many tabs open" almost all the time. Stillness is great, but it doesn't feel attractive if you aren't accustomed to it.

Thank you, I'm doing pretty well and have found ways to overcome the initial depression that set in soon after the November election. Your TCT is so very helpful to many of your readers. I look forward each morning to reading my TCT guru!

First, the visual. Me 💯🤭 your words are like a soothing salve combined with a bitch slap, to Wake Up! (Not very Tao of me, I suppose) So many valuable takeaways. Thank you.

This…”I for one, have been guilty of stirring my own mud into a frenzy, mistaking motion for progress, and confusing busyness for purpose.” Closing tabs as we speak. Trying to be still and not stir up the mud!

Great header graphic. You probably had to toggle between three or four tabs to get that image together. They say that most people can keep track of about four things at any one time, and indeed, I run into trouble early when I have more items open than I can tabulate.

hehe, I have about 50 tabs opened on Chrome going on at least three weeks, maybe five... I continue to procrastinate. Eventually, the browser will crash and I will be freed.
