Namaste, D-M. I take yoga three days a week at Northside (tue-th at 5, sat at 8:15), and the classes are cheap and good. If you want to restart your practice, pull up a mat in our 'hood and get wu wei with it. Certainly cheaper than joining a private studio. With my old person discounts it's practically free.
On another note, I sat and ate several boxes of Girl Scout cookies with a group of strangers at The Penrose last night. It was a sight to behold. I think the guy next to me was MAGA. We both had crumbs on our mouth so neither of us cared. He even gave me the last one. 😂
I have rolled out of bed onto my yoga mat 5-6 days a week for 25 years. My practice has shifted and changed and evolved a couple dozen times in those years, but the relationship of my body to my breath to my soul is always there. It’s how I remember Self.
My discipline to stay consistent is because of one simple rule. 5 minutes. I commit to a minimum of 5minute 5x a week. And rarely does it ever last only 5minutes. Usually I end up on the mat for 20-45 minutes.
The two times I tried yoga, it definitely wasn't for me. I have the worst motion sickness ever, so being upside down (having to hold a pose where the blood is rushing to my head) is not good for me. LOL. But I'd be willing to try qigong or Tai Chi. Any suggestions on where to start?
You know I love this! Your relationship with yoga and the mat feels like a call and response, Kritan circle. When the artist calls out to those who are open to listening, we or our neighbors receive the call and respond with wide-open hearts. At other times, the song doesn't land within us and moves on to someone else.
