Good stuff. Agree with you about Black Americans. Probably applies to Indigenous Americans, too. And I dunno, maybe Gazans. All the people out there descended from apocalypse survivors who continue to live under oppression designed to break them.

Did you read the book How To Do Nothing? Dense and academic but very thought-provoking. It’s been a while since I read it; might be worth revisiting.

I just wrote about doing nothing in December. https://scientificanimism.substack.com/p/drift-whale-if-all-you-can-muster

This spoke to my heart. Thank you. I kept trying to make things happen over the past couple of years to find a home. All disastrous episodes. Then last autumn I let it all go. Stood still and accepted that it would come when it was meant to. It arrived in January! 💙

Isn’t it a beautiful thing when life just naturally unfolds, as it always does? Onward and Forward Amanda.

I love this concluding line: " And when the time is right, the way forward will reveal itself. That has been my experience when I dare to pause, listen, and wait for the right moment.

Thank you for this message. Stand. It offers respite even tho intentional and requires its own intensity of effort. Stand

So wise Diamond. I think it requires deep rooting, a real sense of ground, to stand. To do nothing in this way, is one of the strongest actions we can take. To be. Thank you.

Hi Emily. Yes, indeed. Just like one of those tropical trees rooted and strong in the midst of a wind storm.

Strange. Same here but mine came as answers to questions I had about my life actions: Have I been a good citizen? Have I done my part in civic responsibility? Do I freely pay my taxes? Do I obey the law? Have I been a good mother? Am I a good friend? Is ANY of the current situation in politics here or around the world, MY fault? I'm taking time out, too, because I would never, nor did I ever, actively bring about the chaos we are all seeing. I have always voted and been loyal to my country. Now, it is time to STAND by and watch what comes of those whose actions have been and still are much LESS than mine have been. Good Americans, take pride in who you are and what you have done. We WILL overcome!

Yes, the narrative of life is always full of commas for whenever we want to take a pause.

Wu Wei. Such depth in nothingness. So many cycles of new come and go. May we be the fool. Whistling and dancing

Beautiful wake up call for us to know that sometimes we need to do nothing. All will happen as it will happen, anyway, when we can no longer help a situation. It becomes time to watch and do nothing. It will change, everything changes.

I feel deeply grateful for your touching words. "The river moves without forcing its way. The tree stands firm without rushing to grow." On your other penetrating expressions, it's awkward to know how to respond to the behaviours and choices of families' ancestors and the legacy that prevails widely. You touch the ones that water the seeds of love. Thank you.

There is so much in “standing” with those who need. After I can do nothing else - I will stand. Before I do anything - I will stand.

It really works... so when intuition says "do nothing" I relax and pay attention. Resolution comes and its appears more fitting than if i tried what i wanted to do. Its gracefilled
