I so very much love this! Of course, listening to your body is always a skill to be honest and nurtured...every body is different and has different needs, different cravings to battle, etc. I, personally have been eating one meal a day for the majority of my life. My body feels more energetic and my mind is definitely sharper. I used to get in trouble at work because I'd never take a lunch break. Trying to rationalize to some people why I get tired after eating lunch was very difficult and rarely productive, so is topped trying to explain and took advantage of taking my breaks in quiet solitude outside writing or watching whatever was going on around me. Dinner is the ideal meal for me and allows me to put more thoughtfulness into what I'm creating because I only get one a day! I go to bed happy and fulfilled knowing that I have a clean meal in my belly. Thanks for sharing. I deeply enjoy your writings.

What an inspiring article, Diamond-Michael!

I also have a wonderful -- and very affordable -- diet.

Do you buy food in bulk? I do, and it's all organically grown and at wholesale prices. It costs less to buy oatmeal, for example, this way than it is to buy it from Walmart. I actually did a price comparison.

Eating less often is something I'll think about. Being a morning person, I wake up really hungry. So I have two courses from breakfast, and then a hardy lunch. Dinner is usually really simple. And I take cues from my body, although I sometimes eat for the wrong reasons -- something I'll pay more attention to.

Recently I quipped on a comment that I probably eat better than most billionaires, and I think that's true. I absolutely love my diet, have been vegan for over forty years, and know how to make that work beautifully.

Excited to hear more about your vegan journey. I am about 90% there. In terms of bulk purchases, my approach is just the opposite of yours as I will purchase only as much as my arms will hold — rarely a basket or cart. 🛒 I am the ultimate minimalist.

Good for you, Diamond-Michael.

My conversion to veganism was sudden. It was after seeing a film called 'The Animals Film' that made me want to change my relationship with animals. Three friends saw it too, and all of us are still vegan.

I love to cook, and to experiment with food, so that helps a lot. I take a vitamin pill once in awhile that's designed for vegans.

What would you like to know? I'm happy to answer any questions.

And don't let anyone tell you you're giving up on flavour. I absolutely love the food I eat. It's delicious.

It's also inexpensive, and is often touted as being expensive. I guess there are some high end vegans out there...

You know what? This post made me go look up community gardens, since I don't have a place to garden. Thought provoking.

OMAD for the nomad! And the transition to time restricted eating is not that difficult with proper advance planning and deliberation. It has become so ingrained with you, I imagine, that you may have to struggle to recall how hard you had to work to overcome "breakfast is the MOST IMPORTANT meal of the day!," and "three square meals" and so on. An item that I worry about, slightly, is the oxalate content of those leafy greens--the spinach, swiss chard, kale, or sweet potato greens. Cooking is said to remove or reduce them, but still: other than sufficient hydration is there a way to reduce oxalic acid build up? (I know you are not a doctor, so anything you say is just 'this is what I have heard', or, 'this has been my experience, for what it may be worth.')

So, if you only eat one meal a day, what do you do you eat for breakfast and lunch?
