Uncertainty is, without question, my favorite topic—and as someone who knows nothing about Taoism, it was especially wonderful to read your perspective on the subject!
Fingers crossed that you wound up exactly where you needed to be.
Thank you for sharing this wisdom. Just what I needed today. I feel trapped by my career because I feel like I need to make a certain amount of money to provide for my family and feel like I need certainty of where the road will lead to make a change. I love how you describe letting go of ideas in the context of the actions of the natural world.
Indeed, Amy. My mantra is “when you let go, you allow your life to flow.” A great book you may find valuable is “The Fire Starter Sessions: A Soulful and Practical Guide to Creating Success On Your Own Terms” by Danielle LaPorte.
Ooh, thanks, I will definitely check that book out. Your mantra reminds me of a line from a David Whyte poem that goes something along the lines of, "The life you are meant to lead is so much bigger than the life you can plan." As a compulsive planner the thought is revolutionary 😁

I did. Check out my latest post about my adventure last night at a book and wine bar in Austin, Texas.
Digging in now! I'm still drinking my coffee, but this interview is making me crave a good book + wine pairing.
YES! Much to talk about! Thank you!

I am not a Taoist, but I know what it’s like to be on a journey with few resources and an unknown destination. Thanks for sharing.
Hey, Pat. I’d love to hear more about your story here. Let’s you, me and Leif do that coffee when I’m back for a Denver visit.
Have you read Ron Hogan's interpretation of the Tao Te Ching? I link to a free online copy of it and talk about my own taoist journey in this post.

This is AWESOME! I’m checking it out now.
