As the clock ticks toward 2025, I find myself caught between the timeless wisdom of the I Ching and the rising chatter of UFO and drone sightings across the globe.
It’s as if the universe is playing cosmic jazz, with dissonant notes of paradox, mystery, and uncertainty creating a tune we must learn to dance to.
Honestly, I think all of this is pretty cool. What a time to be alive—or perhaps to question who else might be out there alive with us.
The I Ching, with its ancient roots in Taoist thought, feels more relevant than ever. Its hexagrams remind me that life isn’t a straight path but a meandering river full of twists, turns, and occasional whirlpools.
Take Hexagram 29, “The Abysmal,” for instance. It speaks of danger and flowing water—an apt metaphor for navigating the floods of misinformation, economic upheaval, and political drama we’re likely to face.
The I Ching doesn’t promise smooth sailing; instead, it teaches us to become skilled sailors, embracing the rhythm of the waves without capsizing.
Resilience, it whispers, is less about bracing for impact and more about learning to flow.
And flow we must, because 2025 promises paradox aplenty. On the one hand, we’re inundated with alarming headlines—UFOs causing existential jitters, AI reshaping industries, and global warming melting away old certainties.
On the other hand, there’s an unprecedented opportunity to reconnect with what really matters.
We’re standing at a crossroads, much like the yin-yang symbol, with light and dark swirling together in a cosmic dance. The trick, as the I Ching suggests, is not to resist the paradox but to embrace it. Lean into uncertainty as an ally, not an enemy.
Now about those UFOs. Let’s be honest, the idea that our skies might be teeming with interstellar visitors is as exhilarating as it is terrifying.
Are they friendly?
Curious?
Just bad at parallel parking?
While the Pentagon and conspiracy theorists duke it out, I can’t help but turn to the Pleiadian mythology for some perspective.
According to New Age lore, the Pleiadians are a group of benevolent beings from a star cluster who supposedly seeded humanity with spiritual wisdom.
Whether you take that literally or metaphorically, there’s something compelling about the idea that we’re part of a vast, interconnected cosmic family.
Perhaps, instead of fearing the unknown, we might view these visitors—real or imagined—as an invitation to expand our understanding of the universe and our place within it.
Still, the unknown is a tough pill to swallow, especially in a world that thrives on certainty and control. But here’s the Taoist twist: certainty is an illusion. Life is inherently mysterious, and our attempts to pin it down are as futile as trying to staple water to the wall.
The I Ching reminds us of this through Hexagram 64, “Before Completion,” which speaks to the perpetual state of becoming. It’s a call to stop waiting for the “perfect moment” and instead act with grace and integrity in the face of incompletion.
So, how do we stay resilient in a world teetering on the edge of transformation?
First, cultivate inner stillness. Meditation, qigong, or simply staring at the clouds can help anchor us in the present moment.
Second, embrace adaptability as a superpower. The Tao teaches us that the oak tree breaks in a storm, while the reed bends and survives. Be the reed.
Third, laugh—a lot. Humor, after all, is the ultimate rebellion against despair. If we can chuckle at the absurdity of our existence (UFOs and all), we’ve already won half the battle.
As for my personal plan heading into 2025? I’m channeling my inner Pleiadian, embracing my nomadic Taoist spirit, and keeping an open mind. I’ll consult the I Ching when the going gets tough, not for answers but for the gentle nudges it provides.
I’ll continue to dance with the paradoxes of life, reminding myself that uncertainty is not the enemy but the backdrop against which the most beautiful improvisations unfold.
Ultimately, the wisdom of the I Ching and the mythology of the stars converge on a single truth: the universe is vast, mysterious, and alive.
We are but tiny sparks within it, tasked not with controlling its chaos but with participating in its unfolding.
So here’s to 2025: a year to flow, to laugh, and to embrace the cosmic dance in all its messy, magical glory.

I seem to lack the connection to the cosmic wisdom of The Pleiades, but when my sister and I go out for our daily walk down the street we do wave hello to any passing vehicles and say "Hi!" to any neighbors we happen to see. We are channeling the wisdom of that other Taurean open cluster--the Hyades.
